Mine Clearance

Land mines.
Over 100 million of these indiscriminate killers
lay hidden under the soil across the globe
waiting for the footfall of a soldier or civilian.

In Afghanistan and over 80 other countries across the globe,
land mines continue to maim and kill civilians long after
conflicts have ceased. The social and economic barriers that
they pose to reconstruction in post-conflict nations requires
immediate attention.

The following pages contain photos taken
from Afghanistan during August 2003.
